What really affects how fast a TCS parcel arrives

Distance and route

A parcel between two big cities usually moves faster than one going to a small town or a remote tehsil, because trips between big hubs run more often. This compares routes; it is not a promise of a set number of days.

Which service was booked

TCS has several services, including Overnight Express and Overland Express. The sender picks one at booking, and it does change the speed. TCS lists 36 to 72 hours as the standard transit time for Overland Express, its road service for heavy, bulk and business cargo.

Day of the week

Couriers generally move fewer parcels on Sundays, and TCS counters are closed on Sundays apart from a few airport and main hub stations. A parcel booked on Saturday evening may not move much until Monday.

What time it was booked

Each Express Centre has a daily cut-off time. Parcels booked after it leave with the next dispatch. TCS sets this time per branch, so ask the counter staff when you book if it matters to you.

How to get a real estimate for your parcel

Only TCS, or the seller who booked the parcel, can tell you how long your parcel should take. If you are waiting for an order, ask the seller which TCS service they used. If you are sending something, ask the counter staff instead of trusting a general figure online.
